Easy Peppermint Patties

Sharing is caring!

These Easy Peppermint Patties just scream “holidays” to me! Whether you are making red and green for a traditional look or adding chocolate to the top, everyone will enjoy these little bites.  There’s nothing like the creamy chocolate coating to pair perfectly with the mint flavor waiting on the inside. I love being able to make my own homemade patties at home and now you can join in on the fun, too! Many say with the chocolate topping, it reminds them of those cookies which get sold once a year.

Easy Peppermint Patties

I love the flavor of mint. It’s just such a nice way to freshen up your mouth and tastebuds and I love how it pairs perfectly with chocolate as well. Mint is one of those recipes that can be a quick snack or the perfect minty dessert to end any meal.

Peppermint also tends to be a great holiday dessert which is why I like to have this easy peppermint patties recipe on hand during the last few months of the year.

Since this recipe is so fast and easy to make, it’s pretty much my go-to dish that will keep everyone coming back to the dessert table for more.

Place on parchment lined sheet in single layer

Use wax paper between layers if needed

Store in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving or dipping in chocolate

After 2 hours, dip in favorite chocolate and decorate, or leave plain

Can I dip the whole piece in chocolate?

Of course, you can dip just the top or the whole piece.  It depends on how much chocolate you want.  To me, you can never have too much chocolate.

You can even spoon a small amount of chocolate on top instead of dipping – actually less messy to do.

How long does it take for cream cheese to get to room temperature?

If you’re taking it out of the fridge and sitting it on the counter, you’ll need about 30 minutes or so to get the cream cheese to room temp.

Don’t try and speed it up by putting it into the microwave – this doesn’t work and can cause a weird texture or even cause the recipe to not be set up properly at all.

The biggest thing to remember is that you’re going to want to store these Peppermint Patties in the fridge. This will keep them having a good texture and won’t let them melt as well.

My son even suggested freezing some of the chocolate covered ones.
