Oreo Snowman Cookies

Sharing is caring!

Day 3 of 25 Days of Christmas.  These Oreo Snowman Cookies are so much fun to make! They’re the perfect way to decorate cookies and then enjoy eating chocolate-covered Oreos, too! Have fun with these holiday cookies – they’re so good and simple!  These are meant to be whimsical looking and each unique, just like a snowflake or snowman.  No snowman is perfect, except in a Hallmark movie, so be creative.

And remember, Snowmen aren’t just for Christmas.  Wouldn’t these be fun to make if you are snowed in with the kids, no matter their age.

Oreo Snowman Cookies

Oreo cookies are a simple and easy way to get cookies, fast. Not only do they taste great as they are but when you add chocolate to the top, they’re out of this world delicious! You’ll love being able to decorate these cookies in a quick and easy manner and then have them to snack or share with your family and friends.

I think that these cookies are super cute for a cookie exchange or a great way to gift decorated cookies to those that you love. Who wouldn’t love to get the gift of cookies that they can literally eat right when they get them?

Ingredients needed to make Chocolate Covered Oreos

  • Oreo cookies
  • White melting chocolate, I like Wilton Candy Melts
  • Sugar eyes
  • Chocolate kisses, hat
  • Peel apart Twizzlers, scarf
  • Mini chocolate chips, buttons
  • Orange decorating gel, carrot nose
  • Black decorating gel, mouth
  • Jumbo craft sticks – optional, provides base for snow people

For a little sparkle, sprinkle on white sprinkles or sanding sugar.

See a few of my favorite products below when melting chocolate.

Dip 3 Oreos for each snowman and lay them in a vertical line on a wax paper-lined plate or on a jumbo craft stick for stability. (optional)

As quickly as possible add the hat, the eyes, scarf, buttons.

Use the gel to add the nose and mouth.

Allow to set in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

Serve and have fun!

Did you know you can buy white chocolate covered Oreos?  Why yes you can – this makes it a lot quicker for you.  And the kids too.

Do chocolate Oreos have to stay in the fridge?

They don’t!  Although, some people actually like to eat them chilled or even frozen. If you can put them in the fridge and you want to, go for it. Just be sure that you have them in an airtight container so that they don’t take on the scents and smells of anything else in there.

Can I use other types of melting chocolate for these Oreos?

Absolutely. I really like using Wilton Candy Melts but others use white chocolate chips or almond bark.  There’s no right or wrong if you want to use a different color, maybe for your favorite team, or even regular chocolate flavor.

The other reason that I like using white chocolate is that it shows off the added features to make the decorations as well.

Fun Gift Ideas

With the holidays right around the corner, now is the time to start planning how you’re going to gift to others. Giving cookies is a great gift, and a delicious one, too!

All you need is a cute gift box or tin to get started. You can easily give the gift of cookies to everyone on your holiday list.
