Easy Orange Glazed Carrots – A Perfect Side Dish

Are you a carrot lover? We love them raw or cooked and have them often. Give these Easy Orange Glazed Carrots for a different way to enjoy them.

Many people buy baby carrots for convenience.  Easy to pack in a lunch or grab a few as a snack. But did you know they aren’t really baby carrots?  They are carrots which aren’t full size and cut down to size.  Either way, they are delicious.

Easy Orange Glazed Carrots

This travel inspired recipe came from a stop we made in Georgetown, Kentucky at Local Feed.  We had lemon glazed carrots as a side dish and loved them, so I thought I would try orange glazed.  They turned out perfect.

I think I will also try them with a lemon glaze, but maybe honey instead of brown sugar.  How do you make glazed carrots?

Easter Dinner

I’m going to add this to my Easter Dinner Menu this year.  Here’s my usual meal for that day.

Ingredients for Orange Glazed Carrots

  • 1.5 lbs baby carrots, or cut to uniform size
  • 1/3 Cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • Parsley for garnish

How to Make Orange Glazed Carrots

Steam carrots * to desired tenderness

Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan

Add brown sugar, orange juice and orange zest

Turn off heat

Stir until thick to form a glaze

Toss in carrots and coat well

Serve warm – add a sprinkling of fresh parsley for garnish

*For steaming, I use a steaming basket in a large pot

Time can vary depending on size, but usually 15 – 20 minutes

Ingredients
