Are you ready for the sweet pecan flavoring but don’t have the need for a pie? These Pecan Pie Bars are the perfect dessert solution! Having your own squared piece of goodness is a simple way to get all that flavor without spending all your time making a homemade pie.

Pecan Pie Bar Recipe

I’m a fan of anything with pecans. Pecan pie, roasted pecans, crushed pecans on top of my sweet potatoes…you name it, I love it all. But what I really love about this simple pecan dessert is that I can cut them into bars and share them with family and friends.

Once that cool fall air hits, it’s just so much fun to gather and enjoy sweet treats and tasty dishes with the ones that you love. This is why I always have these simple dessert bars high on my radar because they’re always a hit, no matter what. 

A reason I love this recipe too is I really don’t like to make pie crust.  It’s probably my least favorite thing to make.  

Ingredients Needed To Make Pecan Pie Bars

Crust 

  • 3 cup flour 
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt  
  • 2 sticks butter, room temperature

Filling 

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups light corn syrup
  • 1 ½ cups sugar 
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted 
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla 
  • 2 ½ cups pecans, chopped 

How To Make Dessert Bars Topped with Pecans

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare an 8″ baking dish with nonstick spray.

Crust – In a large bowl stir together flour, sugar, and salt then cut in butter.

Sprinkle into prepared baking dish and press in evenly and firmly.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Filling – in a large bowl mix eggs, syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.

Stir in pecans and spread over crust.

Bake 25 minutes.

Cool completely, slice, serve, and enjoy!

How do you store leftover pecan bars?

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you need to store them in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge. This will keep them fresh and delicious, making them perfect for a snack later on. 

The dish I have shared below is great for recipes like this.  Bake in it, remove from pan to cool, then store in same dish.

Can you use dark corn syrup in this recipe?

You can but it might give it too sweet a taste. Some people make their pumpkin pies using dark corn syrup so you choose what you think will work best. 

What is the easiest way to chop pecans?

A food processor is going to be the fastest way to chop up pecans but you can also put them in a bag and use a rolling pan to roll over and break them up as well.

If I want to make sure I have larger pieces, I just chop by hand with a large knife and cutting board.

Since they’re a “softer” nut, they’re much easier to break than other types.
