Here’s a couple of salsa options which make a great topping.  SPICY PEACH or HOMEMADE VERDE.  One of the main reasons I love making homemade salsa is to control the heat factor.  I don’t like it too hot, but flavorful.  My guys enjoy some heat.

Does a frittata have a crust?

It doesn’t. Cooking it in a skillet will actually give it sort of a crust texture, but you’re not actually making a crust for this egg recipe.

Are a frittata and a quiche the same?

They’re not. Close, but not the same. A quiche will typically have a crust unless someone who eats low carb is making it. That is the main difference between the two.

What toppings go well on a frittata?

Since I think of a frittata basically like an omelet of sorts, I tend to put the same toppings on top of it that I would an omelet.

This means that salsa, diced onions, hot sauce, and even diced jalapenos would all be great options. You can also add chives and fresh cilantro as well.

I had the most delicious tomato preserves on a quiche in Texas last year so I’m still trying to figure out how to make that, or find it to try on this.

How do you store leftover frittata?

The great part about a frittata is that it stores really well. Just add it to an airtight container and keep it in the fridge. The next time that you’re ready to eat it, you can just warm it right up, and you’re good to go.

When I reheat my frittata recipe, I tend to add on some freshly shredded cheese for flavor. Adding cheese is always a good idea!

Can you put a cooked frittata in the freezer?

It’s not advisable. The egg won’t really freeze well, and if you do freeze it, it will have a funky texture once it starts to thaw. It’s best to just go ahead and make your homemade frittata from scratch and eat it right away.

Can you cook a frittata in a regular pan?

You bet. I like to use a cast iron skillet but any type of skillet or pan with a larger surfaced bottom will work.

What other veggies can you add to a frittata?

You can make your frittata as fancy or as plain as you want. Add in peppers, tomatoes, and a variety of onions to really kick up the taste.

Have fun making this simple frittata recipe. It’s the perfect way to fuel your body and fill your belly with a tasty recipe!
