Warm Spinach and Artichoke Dip (using frozen spinach)

I can’t tell you how many times we’ve made this recipe and always love how it turns out. It’s just such a simple and quick way to get something yummy and delicious in our bellies.

Celery and carrots go with it quite well as does homemade bread, too. This is also a great recipe for parties, football tailgates, holiday dinners, or just a wine and dine celebration with friends.

Ingredients needed to make this Spinach & Artichoke dip recipe

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • ½ cups Mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 (10 oz) box frozen spinach, thawed and excess water squeezed out

Supplies needed for this spinach dip recipe

  • Mixer
  • 1-quart dish

Lightly coat 1-quart dish with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.

Add mayonnaise, sour cream and garlic and mix well.

Stir in Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses, and salt until smooth.

Fold in spinach and artichoke hearts until well combined.

Spread into a baking dish.

Can I use fresh spinach in this recipe instead of frozen?

You can. We just happen to use frozen because we always have it on hand. But if you have spinach from your garden or just prefer to have fresh, you can change it out and use that instead.

How will I know when this baked artichoke dip is done in the oven?

Your main clue is that you need to watch for it bubbling and turning brown on top. When that happens, it’s your clue that it’s cooked and ready to be pulled.

Make certain to let it cool a bit before diving in as that layer underneath the bubbling cheese is going to be super hot as well. This is important to remember so that you don’t burn your mouth by diving in and taking a big bite.

What food items pair well with this dip?

Veggies and bread are always great choices. You can also use chips and crackers, too.

Some of the best veggies are peppers, carrots, celery, cucumbers and radishes for dipping.

Thanks for stopping by as we talk all things home and travel. I was doing “DIY” before it was the thing to do. I was born in a big city and lived on farms growing up in small towns. Now I live in what some would consider a moderately big city. I still enjoy the common things associated with a home, mainly cooking and decorating, but always make time for travel. Maybe it’s finding something fun in my hometown, or exploring new places on a road trip or cruise. Please pull up a chair, have a cup of coffee, and let’s talk about it. Read more
