How to Make Patriotic Oreos
Gather up your ingredients
Line a tray or baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pour each color of candy melts into separate microwave-safe dishes.
Heat in the microwave on high for 1 minute, remove and stir well.
Heat in 30-second intervals, until fully melted, stirring well between each heat session.
Once the candy is melted, dip cookies halfway into the melted candy, and place them on a parchment paper-lined tray.
Add sprinkles.
Allow candy-coated cookies to set, and enjoy!
Is it possible to burn candy melts?
Absolutely. You have to be really careful and follow the directions on the package. Because if you donโt, youโre going to burn the candy melts and then you have to throw it all out.
Thereโs no getting rid of that burnt flavoring at all and it canโt be used once burnt.
How do you store dipped Oreos?
The key to keeping this Oreo dessert fresh is to store it in a container with a lid. If the air gets to it, it can make the cookies soggy.
Storing at room temperature is the best way to keep these fresh tasting.
These are so great to share with family and friends. And since everyone can grab one as theyโre walking about and enjoy them, you donโt even have to serve with plates either! That means less mess for you to have to worry about later.
No matter if you make these dipped Oreos for Independence Day or just as a fun treat, you are going to love how fast and simple they come together. Theyโre certain to be one of the most popular dessert recipes that you make!
