I recently headed to Orlando for a Girls Trip with new blogging friends. When you think Orlando, who doesn’t think Disney? My Visit to Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort had all and more you need for a stay in Orlando. The Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort is not only just a five-minute walk to Disney Springs, but it is an official Disney Hotel.

I was provided a media rate for my stay, but all of these opinions are my own.

Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort is an ideal place I can highly recommend for your stay in Orlando, whether it’s a family trip, for business, or just a getaway. A few highlights of the Wyndham & Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs Resort Complex include:

  • Closest hotel to Disney Springs – a short 5 minute walk
There’s continuous shuttles to and from all WDW Parks
    Disney Character Breakfast
    Renovation completed in 2015
    Valet & Self Parking
    Dollar Car Rental onsite
    Ballroom and meeting spaces
    24/7 Business Center
    Disney store
A large selection of recreation and dining options – more on that later

Arriving you find a very friendly and large staff to valet park your car and welcome you. Bellhops are also available to help with your luggage. At only $12 per night, that’s one of the best rates you will find anywhere. There was hardly a wait to pick up your car to be on your way. Convenience and great customer service are two of my biggest selling points at any property.

This hotel has been through a lot of renovations and updates recently and it showed as you stepped into the large lobby area. Several seating areas are provided to just hang out for good conversations and drinks, especially late night.

I’m always quick to check out the decor and accessories such as these driftwood chandeliers.

And this settee. Love.

There were several different areas to enjoy a conversation with friends, having my first cup of Joffrey’s Coffee, or the fresh made pastries in Sundial Twenty-Four Seven Cafe.

Several of my friends were tempted by these giant donuts – big enough to share.

If you need to enjoy an adult beverage, the Eclipse Bar is open until midnight for a glass a wine or your favorite cocktail. And if sports minded, they were showing the Florida Gators in the College World Series, which they later won.

There are so many conveniences offered on site.

If you want to buy your tickets to any of the parks, or a souvenir, you have the Disney gift shop.

It’s not the typical hotel gift shop, since it is a Disney. There’s a very large selection of all things Disney. A big plus for this location is you can purchase your tickets to any of the WDW Parks and avoid the lines inside the parks, which can be rather long at times.

After a speedy check-in, up to our rooms in Towers. I have to admit, I haven’t been to Disney in a few years and never had stayed in a hotel with these views. Now I’m spoiled.

If you even want a more budget friendly option, rooms in The Gardens are available.

Again, the rooms were updated in modern colors and design. The beadboard cabinets hid the safe and refrigerator for a little coastal decor.

The two queen beds were comfy and had soft linens, which is also a plus for me.

I loved the tiled wall in the bathroom with plenty of lighting (another great design feature). You know that’s always important to us girls. And the soft towels.

We were in The Towers on the 16th floor which provided a spectacular view of Disney Springs and a lot of the parks.

Fireworks went off each evening. Excuse the cell phone pic but you get the idea.

Who wants to ride in a hot air balloon? Also viewed from our room. Can you imagine what young children would think to see this balloon or fireworks out of their room? It actually makes everyone turn into a kid again.

The outside area is immaculate also as you would expect with anything Disney.

There is a gazebo often used for weddings, but makes a great photo backdrop as well. And did you see the hidden Mickey?

For getting in about more activity, there’s Tennis, Basketball and Volleyball Courts in the complex.

Then to cool off, the Oasis Aquatic Pool and Playground is the place to be. On those cooler days, the main pool is even heated.

The Oasis poolside bar and grill is open for snacks, lunch and dinner. And of course, your favorite poolside drink.

To begin the day, Lakeview Restaurant offers a buffet breakfast each day, but Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays are even more special.

The Character Breakfast is a must do. This is a great alternative to the park’s breakfast if you wasn’t able to get tickets.

We found Pluto on the morning we ate, but rumor is Goofy and Mickey often show up too. And these are actual characters from WDW.

I noticed a few special breakfast items on these mornings for the kids – Mac & Cheese and Pancakes to name a few.

But who can’t resist a M-I-C-K-E-Y waffle? (Did you just sing the song? I bet you did)

Lots of fresh fruits, omelettes, bacon, biscuits & gravy, and so much more is offered on the buffet every morning. And don’t forget about the Florida OJ.

The Lakeview Restaurant is open for dinner as well.

There’s also room service available for your convenience.

This makes me miss Disney so much! We were annual pass holders when we lived in Florida. The hotel looks like a great place to stay. Now that we’re tourists again, I’ll put it on my list! And oh my goodness, what I wouldn’t give for one of those donuts right now. Seriously! Jealous!

Thanks for stopping by as we talk all things home and travel. I was doing “DIY” before it was the thing to do. I was born in a big city and lived on farms growing up in small towns. Now I live in what some would consider a moderately big city. I still enjoy the common things associated with a home, mainly cooking and decorating, but always make time for travel. Maybe it’s finding something fun in my hometown, or exploring new places on a road trip or cruise. Please pull up a chair, have a cup of coffee, and let’s talk about it. Read more
