Margaritaville Island Hotel – A Tropical Getaway in Pigeon Forge

Sharing is caring!

Margaritaville Island Hotel – A Tropical Getaway in Pigeon Forge. That might be a confusing statement, considering that Pigeon Forge is located in the decidedly land-locked and decidedly NOT tropical Great Smoky Mountains, but Margaritaville Hotel does its best to make you feel like you’re basking in a tropical paradise. Thank you to Margaritaville Island Hotel for my wonderful stay

Don’t let the tropical vibe throw you, though. You’re definitely in the heart of the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains while you stay at this hotel. While enjoying your tropical-themed stay, you’ll also be in a prime spot to take in all that Pigeon Forge has to offer its visitors. In addition to The Island, the hotel is perfectly situated for visitors to enjoy the mountains, scenic drives, shows, museums, and more.

Margaritaville Island Hotel Vibe

Inspired by the lifestyle of Jimmy Buffet and his hit song Margaritaville, this hotel is equal parts down-home charm and tropical retreat. You’ll be instantly taken in by the friendly staff, vibrant exterior, and cozy interior. It’s a vibe that immediately makes you feel both at home and ready for adventure all at the same time.

When you pull in to Margaritaville Island Hotel, you’ll be greeted by a huge building featuring large stonework columns, bright, vibrant blue paint with white trim, and the classic Margaritaville sign, a cacophony of color and movement inviting you to come in and leave your worries behind.

You’ll also notice the Great Smoky Mountains stretching off in the background. It’s a combination that is utterly breathtaking.  I was there in early March with somewhat warm weather, but rain and heavy clouds some.

As I stepped into the hotel, I immediately knew that I’d have a wonderful time there.

Make sure you stop for a photo.

The interior features the same combination of tropical and Appalachian, with posters, photos, and other decorations that feature Jimmy Buffet and the island lifestyle dotted all through a space that features wood, stone, and warm lighting.

Accommodations

The rooms at Margaritaville Island Hotel embrace the same tropicounty (tropical/country) vibe that the entrance and grounds showcase upon arrival. With tropical room colors like blues and sandy creams combined with lots of wood and stone, the hotel’s living accommodations just exude a sense of relaxation and serenity.

These rooms are a mix of modern and vintage, country and chic, island and mountain. It’s a combination that doesn’t sound like it would work when you read it, but when you see these rooms, you see exactly just how well the design gels to create a space that works on every level.

You’ll find dual rain showers in the bath, granite-topped wood vanities, vessel sinks, and more all through the rooms and suites offered at Margarita Island Hotel.

Stone fireplaces, large luxurious bathrooms, eating nooks, balconies, intimate seating areas, and mini-kitchens make every room feel like a home away from home, and many of the rooms boast wonderful views of The Island, the Great Smoky Mountains, or both. Excellent during the day or night.

I stayed in the Fountain Room which offered a lovely view of The Island Fountain. For even more luxurious digs, the hotel now has brand spanking new Penthouse Suites offering the height of luxury.  A balcony called to me for my morning coffee.

Let’s not forget one last thing that all the rooms have in common: margarita makers! What else would you expect from a hotel called Margaritaville Island Hotel? Bring your own favorite mixes or you can purchase kits.
