Enjoying The Lodge at Gulf State Park a Hilton Hotel

The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel, offers the best of modern amenities, a welcoming atmosphere, and the beauty of Gulf Shores, Alabama – all wrapped up in one getaway destination.

We stayed at The Lodge on a recent trip to Gulf Shores and it was such a fantastic experience that I knew I had to share it with all of you.

If you travel a lot, you know that the right hotel makes all the difference. A hotel is more than just a place to sleep at night. It’s the hub for your entire trip. Nothing can make or break a trip like the lodgings you choose, and we always make sure to choose accommodations that make coming back to the hotel every night feel like home, and that’s exactly what we got at The Lodge.

Located on East Beach Blvd. right next to the ocean, The Lodge is centrally located in Gulf Shores, making it the perfect hub for a getaway to the area. It’s in close proximity to everything the area has to offer, including all the popular tourist spots, dining, shopping, the beautiful Gulf Shores white sand beaches, and, of course, Gulf State Park. An important note – and one that we love as travelers and lovers of nature – is that the hotel is eco-friendly and LEED certified. This certification is the cream of the crop for environmentally friendly building and operation, making this hotel one that we particularly love, especially as it’s a gateway to Gulf State Park.

The Vibe

The beautiful decor, welcoming staff, and fantastic location made our trip a fantastic one. Guests will enjoy the beauty of nature before ever stepping into the hotel as they make their way to The Lodge.

Stepping into the hotel is like stepping into a home away from home. The lobby is bright and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Of course, where you stay determines your mood, and the hotel will definitely put you in the right frame of mind with its beautiful rooms. Enjoy views of the ocean or the nearby lake, plenty of natural light, and modern and welcoming decor.

Check out all the choice of rooms available and accommodations from standard Queen and King rooms, rooms with bunk beds, to suites.

Amenities such as coffee makers plus lots of storage, makes it perfect for a family stay.

The Food

In addition to cozy rooms with all the modern amenities a traveler needs these days, the hotel has amazing dining options to try, as well. Perch offers what they called “elevated dining”, with dishes that take classics and put a modern twist on them. Premium steaks topped with onion rings, the freshest seafood you’ll find anywhere, handcrafted cocktails, and more are waiting there, and it’s all delicious.

At Foodcraft, you’ll enjoy delicious coastal dining with classic recipes and stunning views of the beach.

For a quick pick-me-up, head to Roasted Oak, a coffee bar by day and a wine bar by night. You’ll enjoy delicious coffee, delightful wine, and light grab-and-go snack options.

Woodside Restaurant offers classic Americana dishes like burgers, sandwiches, and unique cocktails, along with live music and fun backyard games.

Finally, The Dragonfly Bar & Grill offers casual dining that the whole family will love, with all kinds of delicious dishes and a laid-back atmosphere that welcomes everyone.

The Park

You’ll find no shortage of travel posts and articles that talk about mini-golf, shopping, and other attractions nearby The Lodge, but I want to focus on Gulf State Park just as we did on our trip. The beauty of Mother Nature is on full display at the park, and there are so many things to see and do that everyone in the family will love it – even the kids!

The pier adjacent to the Lodge area is currently closed.  Repairs are still underway from a recent hurricane.  I can’t wait for it to open back up so we all can enjoy walking on it.  Many spend their time fishing from the pier as well.

The park offers 28 miles of trails for hiking and biking, a Coastal Segway Tour, a geocaching adventure, paddle boarding and kayaking, freshwater fishing, and so much more. They have a wonderful bike sharing program making it easy for visitors to enjoy the park. In addition to all the outdoor activities, be sure to keep your eyes open to enjoy all the wildlife you might find along the way. The Gulf is a treasure trove of wildlife to view, and the park is home to so much of it!

Enjoy the Beaches

I don’t think you can find any more beautiful beaches than in the Gulf Shores area.  The wide, white sandy beaches are perfect for everyone.  Bring your lounge chair out.  Walk early or late to enjoy those fabulous sunrises or sunsets, or just enjoy the sounds of the waves from your balcony.

My favorite spot – the balcony enjoying that first cup of coffee watching the sunrise.  Make sure you get a balcony with a view of the gulf.

If you enjoy a pool, more than the beach, they have you covered with this wonderful gulf side pool.

  1. Love Hilton hotels! What a great choice – and the gulf is my preferred southeast beach destination. Sorry not sorry Atlantic side 😅
