Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal – Not Your Usual Airport Hotel

Sharing is caring!

When you think of an airport hotel, most think of a place to stay the night before an early flight or staying over from a late flight.  The Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal isn’t either of these.  Although just steps from the main terminal, it’s more than a convenience.  I recently partnered with Hilton for my stay, but all opinions are my own.  #hosted

As Nashville’s first and only on-site airport hotel, no shuttle is required to get from your hotel to the airport.  As a full-service hotel, it won’t take you long to realize why the choice to stay here was the right one.

Convenience is Key

We don’t fly a lot, but I have discovered anything that can be done to make the flight easier or more convenient, is worth it.

Last year, we flew out of Nashville for an early morning flight to Denver.  We spent the night before for the very reason – convenience.  For a quick one-night stay (12 hours), the double queen was very spacious even with 3 adults.

After making that 5-minute walk across the plaza to the terminal, we checked our bags, went through security, then grabbed breakfast while waiting on our flight.  No rushing around and worrying about getting to the airport on time, having to find parking, or even waiting on a shuttle or Uber.  And a biggie for us – no traffic.

The plaza area is a great place to get fresh air and even let the kids enjoy the play area and a swing.  How many hotels offer this, especially at an airport?  Notice the planes on the post?

Rooms With a View

It doesn’t matter how old you get; it’s just fun watching planes take off.  Make sure to ask for a room with a view, or like our suite, we had a view from two sides.  Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us for the best views from the room, or Skybox, but it was still great to see.

Our Recent Stay

Our room was one of the spacious suites featuring views of the airport and runways from two directions.   This would be perfect for a family.  What a great way to entertain kids – of all ages.

It featured a nice living room to relax in after a fun day of sightseeing or maybe from a long flight.

The kitchen/dining area was great for a coffee and wine space.  It’s not a complete kitchen but there is a microwave in the lobby area if you have any leftovers to warm up.   There aren’t any utensils or dishes included.

The bed and linens were so comfy for a great night’s rest. And again, a view to enjoy.

I loved the large bathroom.  A great shower is always a plus.  And those brown glass subway tile were absolutely beautiful.   If I ever had a bathroom to tile, these would be my choice.

Dining at Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal

You are taken care of from early morning until late night, just what you expect at a convenient airport hotel.  With the main restaurant located on the lobby level, you can walk across the SkyBridge from the airport through the Plaza and enjoy a great meal.  Even meet up with family or friends before or after your flight.

Coffee Café

Hours are 5 am – 2 pm.

Grab your coffee or pastry, even on the go.  There are seating options in the lobby and patio.  The friendly baristas can make that custom drink, just how you like it.

Aviators Restaurant

Located just off the lobby, it offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.  During the dinner time, you can hear the music from the Music Lounge and bar each evening.

With the lighted wine storage, you would never guess you are just steps aware from the airport.

Beware of the breakfast!!!  The servings are huge!  We ordered the Brioche French Toast and Pancakes and just one of these would still have been too much for the two of us along with the fruit we ordered.  They were delicious and a great way to start a long day.

Lunch and Dinner

The menu will have many of the same items offered for lunch and dinner, so you are guaranteed a full meal no matter what time you eat.  Sometimes with long travel days and changing time zones, you eat by what your stomach tells you, not the clock.  It does change seasonally so you can enjoy some of the freshest ingredients the Chef can find.

Look on the menu for a nod to flying.  Many of your items will have an aviation name to them such as B52 Salad, Fly by Caesar, The Hanger Club or the Aviator Burger.

The grilled shrimp was absolutely beautiful and delicious.

The roasted chicken had that crispy skin which is a sign of a perfectly prepared chicken.

BNA Sky Pavilion

Open at 4 pm, there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with views of the airport, and even downtown Nashville in the distance.  You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to ride the express elevator to the 10th floor to enjoy a drink with a view.

There’s a good selection on the menu, being a bit more casual than Aviators Restaurant.  Sports seems to always be on the TV when we have been up there.

The seasonal pool is located on the rooftop as well.

Plenty of Seating Around the Lobby

There are several areas on the first floor around the lobby, for a bit more quiet, or closer to the bar for enjoying music each evening after 5 pm.   If you are waiting on a flight, it might be a bit more enjoyable to hang out around this lobby instead of the airport gates.  Although always allow plenty of time for security at BNA.

Enjoy music each evening in the bar area.  Notice the piano keys on the carpet?

Need a snack or did you forget something?  Need to pick up a Nashville souvenir before leaving town?  The self-check-out market is handy for this. A 24-hour business center is available for all hotel guests.

The hotel offers its guests a 24-hour fitness center.  It’s also pet friendly (with a fee).

Getting to the Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal

Follow your GPS or directions to the Airport Terminal.  My GPS was telling me to follow signs to Valet Parking but these signs didn’t appear until you got closer to the hotel.  I don’t always trust my GPS for this reason.

Here’s how we got there:

  • Follow signs to Terminal Drop Off off I-40
  • As you get closer, you will see signs to the hotel
  • Pull into the entrance for the hotel and park in the spots designated for check in
  • You can park your car in the lot after getting your hotel key
  • If you are staying a few days, you do have in and out access at no additional charge

Doing Business at Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal

This hotel is much more than just a place to spend the night before a flight.  Whether you have a small meeting in person, or some by zoom, the hotel can accommodate meetings or functions of all sizes.

I loved some of the smaller areas which are named for historical names in flight and aviation. Many names you are familiar with such as Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and the Wright Brothers, but also one named for Bessie Coleman, the first African-American and first Native American woman pilot.

I even learned how BNA was named. You never know when these little bits of trivia can come in handy.

Originally named the Berry Field National Airport, opening in 1937,  in honor of Colonel Harry S. Berry, a World War I veteran and the Tennessee State Administrator for the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The airport’s construction was one of the earliest and largest WPA projects in the region.

The BNA code, assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is a way to preserve this historical name.  So, while the official name is now Nashville International Airport (since 1988), the historic Berry Field Nashville is why  the familiar BNA code today is still used today.

The larger ballrooms can be used for any private or business events, even weddings.  I met the catering manager, and they can work with you for any need.  Setting up a simple coffee to full meals to fit the size of your group can be arranged.

It’s a beautiful hotel.

Final Thoughts on Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal

When you travel as much as we do, you learn to trust many hotel names, and Hilton is one of them.  You know what your room will be like and what kind of service to expect.  This one didn’t disappoint.  The Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal should be on your list for staying when in Nashville.  You will never look at an airport hotel the same way again.
