How To Make Pumpkin Butter in the Crockpot
If youโre new to the slow cooker pumpkin butter world โ welcome. I can assure you that the flavor of pumpkin butter is one that youโre not going to forget. So, every time I was making a trip over, I loaded up on this for her.

What is the best way to store cooked pumpkin butter?
The key to keeping your pumpkin butter fresh is to have it stored in a jar with a lid. You also need to make certain that itโs kept cool so keeping it in the fridge is a must.
Also, make certain that when youโre scooping out the pumpkin butter, that youโre using a clean utensil each time. If there is saliva on it, that isnโt good to have dipped back into the pumpkin butter as it can spread unwanted germs.
What foods pair well with pumpkin butter?
Itโs all about adding it to anything that you want! I love to spread it on bagels, toast, crackers โ you name it. Itโs also great mixed with yogurt it is even added in with a bowl of oatmeal as well.
Is canned pumpkin really even pumpkin?
Shockingly, sometimes itโs not! You need to make certain that youโre reading the label of whatever pumpkin youโre buying because a lot of them that are sold at the store are actually filled with cooked squash instead of pumpkin. The more you know, right?
Using Fresh Pumpkin
As in most pumpkin recipes, you can use fresh pumpkin puree instead of canned. The beauty of canned is you can make this all year long. If using fresh, a 15 ounce can = about 1 3/4 cup of fresh.
Have fun making this simple pumpkin butter recipe. Itโs a great way to enjoy that flavor of pumpkin with minimal effort on your part.

Thanks – such a great treat on toast.
I do not have apple cider. Can I use apple juice
It should work fine – I know it’s hard to find cider a lot during other times of the year. Cider is a bit more flavorful to more, so after you make it, taste to see if you like the flavor, you could add a bit more pumpkin pie spice, or even cinnamon. Hope you enjoy. Let me know.
