Strawberry Pretzel Salad Recipe
This is really quite the classic strawberry salad. This is one of those family recipes that gets passed down throughout the years because itโs always simple and delicious.
But what I also love about this simple strawberry recipe is that its one that anyone can cook. I like to make this for a nice weekend at home or whip it up and share at BBQs and other gatherings, too.
The more people that can enjoy the taste of this strawberry and pretzel salad, the better!
Can you use fresh strawberries instead of frozen ones?
You bet! Fresh strawberries would taste absolutely amazing for this recipe. If you have fresh strawberries, use them! And garden-fresh strawberries are awesome as well. If using fresh, I will cut them into small pieces, and even mash a few to really get more juice.
Will the pretzel crust get soggy?
More than likely, the crunch will start to go away in the pretzels the longer it sits as a leftover. Youโll still have the amazing flavor and taste that youโre looking for but the crunch of the pretzels will be gone.
How do you store this leftover strawberry pretzel salad?
All you need to do is pop it in the fridge for later. This will keep it nice and chill and then you can just cut a piece the next time that youโre hungry.

I like simplicity when it comes to toppings but you can always add more. Some other topping suggestions could be:

- shredded coconut
- chocolate shavings
- sprinkles
Itโs totally up to you if you decide that you want to add anything else on top or not.
Tips for Making Strawberry Salad with Frozen Strawberries
The biggest thing to remember is that you need to mix until the creamy middle is nice and smooth. No one is going to want lumps of cream cheese in their bites. You still want a few pieces of strawberries for texture and taste.
Also, let it get nice and chilled in the fridge. Itโs so good served cold!

I love learning about local dishes I’ve never heard of before. I’ll have to try it; this would be perfect for BBQ season!
This is pretty much a staple at family gatherings or at churches (back when you could gather for meals). It’s good to have a little as a salad, then a little more for dessert. Hope you try it.
I just made this yesterday. My family loves it. I also mix sour cream and sugar and spread it over the strawberries and then top it with chopped pecans. It’s so good!
Oh that sounds good. I grew up with my Mom making a cheesecake, no crust, and had the sour cream topping and baked. It was really good.
I haven’t had this in years. It looks SO delish. I love the salty sweet combination. Yum!
I love pretzels with sweet stuff too, especially chocolate. You need to make it and enjoy.
Never in a million years would I have thought I’d want to try strawberries and pretzels together until you shared this recipe, now all I want to do is go pick some fresh strawberries. What an interesting combo. Can’t wait to try it
This is a recipe most Southern families have at some time during the summer. It is delish!!
This sounds really delicious and different. I am useless in the kitchen but I think this is something I will be trying.
It is wonderful. And it’s really pretty easy even though there’s a few steps. Hope you try it.
In our house we call this Rosemary’s Salad after you! It is a must at Thanksgiving and in the summer. PS. cousins and to my youngest kids…Aunt Rosemary
Great to be thought of.
This is one of my favorite recipes but I never think to make it! Thanks for reminding me what a southern treasure it is!
Sometimes I just make half for us. I don’t like it after a day or too.
