Making Monster Munch, A Fun Treat For The Fall
Just in time for a Halloween party or to give as a treat this Monster Munch is perfect. Making Monster Munch, A Fun Treat not only gives you this sweet and salty, but itโs so easy to make (involve your kids) but you can make it with your favorite flavors. Who doesnโt like sweet and salty together?
This is one of those great throw together recipes where you add what you like, or even a little extra of those favorite things. Substitute things as well โ mini M & Mโs would be great also instead of chocolate chips. Or maybe both.
If you donโt do Halloween, or canโt wait until then, this is really a treat you can mix up any time for your enjoyment. You can even find different fall candies perfect for Thanksgiving treats.
Are you a candy corn lover? Iโve even seen it with brown, orange, and yellow which can look more fallish.
This is the basic recipe I started with. Adjust these ingredients to your own taste or food allergies.
MONSTER MUNCH
2 cups cheese crackers
1/2 cup candy corn or harvest mix
1 1/2 cup pretzel sticks โ broken in half
3 cups Bugles
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup chocolate covered sunflower seeds
You basically just throw everything into a large mixing bowl and toss.
I told you it was easy.
Store this in an airtight container for up to a week โ but I bet it wonโt last that long. Itโs even easy to throw together last minute using all of your favorite ingredients.
Itโs been forever since Iโve had Bugles. I remember they were a treat in themselves many, many years ago. And donโt they look like little witchโs hats? Or who put them on your fingers to pretend you had long fingernails?
Other suggestions to add:
M & Ms
Coconut
Golden Grahams
Sunflower or Pumpkin Seeds
Do you want to make it a bit sweeter? Hey itโs Halloween season so letโs see how much sugar we can eat.
Melt a few candy melts or almond bar and drizzle over the mixture. Let set until firm then break apart.
Think about packaging this in a treat bag to giveaway.
This mixture is great to have in cars for road trips too. I think these ingredients are going on my grocery list today for our upcoming road trip.
Do you need a snack for watching the games? What about while Thanksgiving dinner is cooking?
What would you add to this to make it even better? Let me know your ideas.

I occasionally make bags for our Awana ministry snack time. This looks like a tasty fall treat to make for the kids for one of these times. I will let you know if I try it out!
No, I drink wine when cooking, no snacking ๐
But I do love nibblies when watching my favourite shows.
It’s too bad I can’t find snacks that’s better for me.
What a yummy, colorful, and fun treat for Halloween! I love the recipe – it’s just so easy no reason not to make some Monster Munch up right away!
My girls are huge fanatics of the sweet and salty wave. I have tried a few but I am still pretty much picky. This mix looks doable. I love all the ingredients so shouldn’t be too bad for me lol
This mix looks like the perfect combination of salty and sweet! I absolultely love bugles – I buy them at 7-11 as a treat sometimes when I’m at the office ๐ They remind me of being a kid and putting them on my fingers like claws!
Now that I’ve eaten them, I’m afraid I will be having to keep them around.
What a fun and easy Halloween snack idea! I would definitely add M&Ms or other chocolate candies. The more chocolate the merrier, lol. Speaking of Bugles, I just had them for the first time in years. I had such a craving for them and there they were on sale!
LOL! I love your warning sign! Sweet and salty is always my thing! I love this and actually feeling the munchies now! I like the mix of just about everything you want in a snack. The best part is that they all blend together just fine.
I had to but this in a zip lock bag and pack it away for TV or there wouldn’t have been any left.
I am always looking for more ideas for school snacks. I need to make snacks for that and for my daughter’s daycare. Thanks for the idea!
The thing about this is use what you have or what you like. Hope you follow along for more ideas.
That is a good looking and tasty treats. I have a co-worker who always do this giveaway on holidays. We all love it it doesn’t cost that much to pack it. I might need to do this too, will pick some healthy and sweet treats for a change.
That’s the beauty of something like this – make it to fit your likes and dislikes.
