Cajun Seasoning Mix
This versatile Cajun Seasoning Mix can be used on almost anything to spice up your dishes. Our favorite ways to us it will include using in seafood dishes, pasta, on a steak, flavored butters, or even sprinkled over fries.
The mixture of black and white pepper adds a little different flavor than just using one.
Itโs easy to make this up and have on hand. Most of these ingredients you probably already have in your spice rack or pantry already.
Ingredients you need to make Cajun Seasoning Mix
- 3 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika
- 2 Tablespoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon White Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- ยฝ Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
A local restaurant serves a Cajun Ribeye. Not only does it have a Cajun seasoning rubbed on it befofore grilling, but served with Cajun Butter served on top. Just mix some of this seasoning with softened butter to kick it up a bit.
Anytime I make my own seasoning mixes, Iโm always tweaking them a bit. Iโm sure you do that too. A little (about a teaspoon of onion powder) adds a little more flavor too.
So easy to make this Cajun Seasoning Mix
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix. Or, put them in a spice bottle and shake.
Store in an air-tight bottle in your pantry for up to 6 months.
A few hints
If you donโt have black and white pepper, just use 2 Tablespoons total of what you have.
Smoky Paprika is always my choice for any seasoning, but regular paprika can work in a pinch.
Want it spicier โ just increase the Cayenne Pepper.
If you live anywhere with a lot of humidity, like I do in the South, use the Silica Gel packs in your spices so they donโt become one big clump. (see link below)
I love my spice jars, arranged in alphabetical order, in my pantry. So easy to access since I donโt have counter space for them.
I may receive a small affiliate amount from any Amazon sales, but it doesnโt cost you extra. It just helps me with the cost of my blog โ thanks for buying from me. See the full disclosure here.
If you are like me and make a lot of your own seasoning mixes, or cook a lot, buying in bulk for spices is very budget friendly.
