Have you missed me?  The last few weeks have been quite hectic around the Palmer household.  I’ve been to Haven, a wonderful DIY/Blogging Conference in Atlanta and got to spend time with my cousin Linda Johnston, of Bushel and a Pickle.  Plus see old friends, meet tons of new ones and learn about blogging and new products.
Then also attended Becoming Conference in Asheville for the 2nd year.  It’s a more girl weekends with lots of inspiration.
Making upcoming plans for the kitchen makeover, getting my new Moen sink and faucet in, and waiting on a new counter top product.
Went on the World’s Longest Yard Sale for a few hours here around Chattanooga.  Weather was probably some of the best ever.
Oh, then fighting a sinus infection for a week.  UGH!!
I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of our family – my little Golf TDI Wagon.  With my Escape getting older and not as good on gas mileage, our love of travel and running around, we needed something better.  vwHow often are you just talking about getting a car worked on and your husband says “Let’s just get a new car”.  OK – fine with me.
Knowing we wanted good gas mileage we thought of a VW.  We love the idea some of built here in Chattanooga and our son works at the local dealership in the Parts Dept.volkswagen_chattanooga_3166After looking at a few this little wagon was chosen, especially since it had some extra storage for all of my treasures I like to carry around.  Plus had to make sure there was room for enough luggage for our trips.  And it being a diesel, it would get better mileage.  Estimate was 35 around town and 42 on the road.  Sounded good to me.
Tornado Red is the color but I would rather refer to it as Razorback Red.
What shall I name her?  Any thoughts?
I was a bit hesitant about getting a “car” since I hadn’t had one in almost 30 years.  I’ve had vans and SUVs so I didn’t want to feel like I was sitting on the ground.  To my surprise, I didn’t.
Two days later I drove this little beauty home.  I loved as I was driving around town my MPG was going up to about 38.  Then on my way to Atlanta, it was up to 48.  Very pleased with our purchase.
No key in ignition to start, keyless entry, and handsfree talking on my phone are just a few of the features I love.
We all are taking turns driving it to save on gas.  Over the weekend my son sent me this picture from Nashville.vw mpgWOW!!!!
51 MPG – Loving that on my budget too.
Although I said my son works at VW, I was not paid or compensated for talking about my new car.  This is truly my thoughts.
If you need a new car, think about a VW and visit Village VW in Chattanooga.  They’ll take care of you.
