I don’t have time – who says this? (Hand raised) Well if you say I don’t have time – you might, just find it.
We all have 24 hours in a day and how we choose to use it determines what we actually get done. Some may have limits on their time such as a 9 – 5 job, commute time, kids activities, and other family priorities but finding those few minutes can make all the difference. Multi-tasking has been a catch phrase around for a while. Many things needs your undivided attention, but think about while sitting in the doctors office or car pool line, what could get done. Even reading that book you say you don’t have time to do.
But do you have time wasters? (Again hand raised)
Some of mine are:
TV
Checking phone, Facebook and other social media too often
More planning than doing
Playing with new apps or games on phone
“I’ll do it later”
How do you waste time??????
Where can you find time to do things?
Did you know you can almost unload the dishwasher while coffee is being made? Try to run it the night before, then unload it first thing. As your day goes along, it’s easy to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and not let them pile up in the sink.
If watching TV, don’t watch commercials. Do something.
As once said,
I heard that once and it’s always stuck with me.
Even while watching some of your favorite shows, here’s a few things to keep in mind.
On your laptop:
make your shopping list
go through old emails
answer emails
organize and edit pictures
check your calendar
On your phone
Organize pictures
Delete apps not used
Do updates
Make some lists of jobs to be done. What will take only 5 or 10 minutes?
Go through old mail
Pay a bill
Make a phone call
Put in a load of laundry
Unload or load dishwasher
Take out the trash
Another way – although maybe not the most popular – get up a little earlier. Think about those jobs that only take 5 – 10 minutes, think about how many you could get done without any interruptions first thing of the morning.
Maybe this would be a great time too if you want to expand on your personal time. Reading a book, doing a bible study, doing an on-line course.
Getting up just 12 minutes earlier each day gives you an extra hour of time in the week. Would you really miss that 12 minutes of sleep?
If there’s always a hustle and bustle in the morning, this 12 minutes of quite time can be a refreshing start to the day.
You will see a lot more posts this year about as my husband says “get your act together” as in more planning, decluttering, and organizing.
Feel free to always give me your best hints and tips and I’ll do a round up of them.
I’ve included affiliate links to Amazon for you to find some products easier. I may receive a small commission, but the price is the same for you. It just helps my blog out.
My Christmas Breakfast Menu and Table Setting are all planned. Groceries purchased. So I feel ready. Since there’s just three of us, it’s not a huge meal, but hearty since our Prime Rib Dinner will be later in the day. I hope some of these ideas and hints will help you in planning any meal….
Winter is finally gone – at least in our area, and I couldn’t be happier. With the end of it and beginning of spring, it’s a time of renewal of so many things. For a lot of people, like me it includes thinking about planting areas and containers to give your home a…
Can you find 24 Things to Declutter in 2024? I bet most of us can (hand raised here). With downsizing from a house to an apartment a few years ago, I have done a lot, but I had a lot, and still have a lot. But, finally figuring out what I really like to use…
Cleaning your makeup brushes – my dirty little secret. At least one I will make public. Do you have a dirty secret? One of them might be cleaning your makeup brushes. Be honest, how often do you clean them? Me – not often enough. This is another “to-do” on my list before any vacation also….
No – that’s not what I’m having today, but I do remember when I was in the 5th grade we had this. I wish I could ask my Mother why we did it that year. But, that will remain one of those unanswered questions.Growing up we only had fried shrimp as a special treat, maybe…
With winter weather comes the inevitable; dry skin! It happens to the best of us, and I have tried many products to combat it. Since I have been on a mission to reduce the amount of chemicals and toxins in my beauty and cleaning routines I decided to make a refreshing orange mint sugar scrub….
