Sheet Pan Chili Lime Beef Fajitas
I’ve been a fan of fajitas forever. I love how they’re fun to make and the added vegetables are always a bonus.
The way that the peppers give a sweet taste to the dish really takes the flavor over the top. There’s no doubt in my mind that if you make up this simple dinner recipe, you’re going to be asking for seconds in no time flat.
What kind of beef is used for fajitas?
The most common meat used for fajitas is going to be flank steak. It’s easy to slice and use for adding to your recipe.
Why are fajitas served sizzling?
This is because the meat is still cooking as it’s arriving at the table. It also creates a really fun ambiance as well. Just be careful – it’s super hot! You’ll find that most fajita recipes are cooked on a cast-iron skillet or hot plate so this one is a little bit different.
Do fajitas have cheese?
They can if you want them to! You’ll see from my recipe below that they don’t but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add it!

How are fajitas traditionally served?
Typically, you’ll find that they’re served with a warm tortilla. You just open up the tortilla and add in all the meat and toppings.
We also like to just serve in a bowl and add the traditional toppings
What toppings do you put on fajitas?
Totally up to you. Some of the best fajita toppings include:
- Shredded lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Salsa
- Shredded Cheese
- Diced Jalapeno
- Onions
- Cilantro
- Guacamole
- Black beans
And that is just some of the list. You can literally add on whatever toppings you would like to add to give your dish some extra flavor.
What tortillas do you use for fajitas?
Just because of the texture, flour tortillas are going to be the best. But keep in mind that you don’t have to use tortillas if you don’t want to, either.
Just add the ingredients to a bowl and enjoy! You can also add these toppings to a side salad or larger salad to give it some more flavor and taste. You can’t go wrong with any way you enjoy this dish.

Never occurred to me to make this as a oven sheet meal! Fewer dishes for the win
I love to make things in a sheet pan – yes less clean up and cook all at once.
