Denver is a vibrant city full of life and has no shortage of things to do and see. With a vibrant art district, shopping, dining, a host of outdoor activity opportunities, and beautiful geography, this city has something for everyone. A little-known fact is that Colorado has more sunshine than Florida, so it’s more likely than not that any trip to Denver will be a pleasant one.

Of course, every trip is only as good as the hotel at which you stay, so picking accommodations that make you feel at home is incredibly important. The Cambria was built with that philosophy in mind. Although it’s decidedly modern, it gives you an at-home feel from the first day of your stay to the last.

A new hotel in the RiNo area of Denver, the Cambria fully embraces both modern life and the artistic vibe of the district. You’ll find clean lines and bold colors throughout the hotel, melding the modern aesthetic with artistic sensibilities.

Our corner room was spacious with plenty of extras for our family of three.

I especially enjoyed the views of downtown and the snow capped Rockie Mountains.  When there’s plenty of room for snacks and my coffee pot, it’s even better.

You’ll even find an impressive mural on the outside of the hotel, as well as in the lobby, both of which were created by a local artist. Its rooms are designed to be user-friendly, comfortable, and attractive, creating a relaxing environment for family vacations, work trips, or even high-end staycations.

As impressive as its commitment to the comfort of its guests is the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. Fully embracing the idea of environmental friendliness, the hotel incorporates a variety of technology to help it reduce its carbon footprint. Using solar panels to help generate power, water-wise rooftop gardens to reduce water consumption, motion sensor lighting and thermostats, light timers, low-flow toilets, and modern recycling practices, the hotel strives to be as friendly to the environment as it is to its guests.

Location

The hotel is located in Denver’s downtown River North Art District, an up-and-coming area of the city rapidly becoming known for its eclectic atmosphere and unique focus on the arts.

The area is also close to everything in the city, making the hotel’s location ideal for any trip to the area, whether business or pleasure. The hotel is within walking distance of Light Rail, Denver’s public transportation system, and only a little over 2 miles from downtown Denver. This proximity to both downtown and public transport makes everything in Denver immediately accessible to guests of Cambria Denver.

Dining at The Cambria Hotel Denver RiNo

A big trend in hotels is how so many are now using locally sourced foods in an upscale, but delicious way.  Hotels used to be known for not having great food, but don’t bypass the hotel restaurant and bar for your dining options.  You even find many patrons dining at these restaurants who aren’t even hotel guests.  That’s how good they are becoming.

The Painted Rino Kitchen & Bar is a beautiful space just off the lobby to enjoy Breakfast, Happy Hour and Dinner.

Breakfast has a large variety of options to fit everyone’s diet including Gluten Free and Vegetarian.  Don and I are a pretty standard breakfast people so we chose the Farmer’s Omelet with a side of bacon and the Everyday Breakfast.

Doug on the other hand is a huge burrito fan so his Rocky Mountain Burrito was perfect for him.

All was delicious with ample serving sizes to fuel us up for a day out and around Denver.

I love that so many places offer a Charcuterie Board which is almost a meal in itself when we just want something a bit lighter, especially if we’ve been enjoying a lot of food throughout the day.

With dinner, there were again many items to choose from.  We had a later lunch that day so wasn’t quite as hungry for dinner that night.

Don and I chose to share the  Heritage Pork Chop which was plenty for the two of us.  He did hesitate with a cherry sauce, but I convinced him it wasn’t the Maraschino Cherries so he was fine with that.  It was delicious.

We do share an entrée often so we can add an appetizer and/or dessert to the meal and not have leftovers while traveling.

Doug is pretty adventurous with trying new things so the White Bison Flatbread was perfect for him.  He said the Bison Sausage was a great change than most flatbread toppings.

We were too full for dessert so maybe next time we will start with that.

Grab a sunset on the rooftop bar with a special cocktail made each day.

Overall Thoughts on Cambria Downtown Denver

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this location to anyone visiting the area.  It was also very convenient to the interstates so no matter which way you was choosing to travel, it was handy. Read soon about some of our favorite sights to see in the Denver and Colorado area.

We have stayed at several Cambrias including the location in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina.  I hope they bring their outdoor Winter Cabanas back this year.
