Sharing is caring!

For the most amazing light show, a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in Atlanta is a must.  Thereโ€™s not too much more time for this season, but itโ€™s something to put on your calendar for next year.  Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, normally opens in mid-November and runs through the second week of January.  Many nights sell out so plan to purchase your tickets online ahead of time.

Sell out nights will be posted on their FACEBOOK page.  Special events such as Train Rides, Late Night Lights, and other special events are listed there and online.  Get more ideas PLAN YOUR VISIT

Visiting Atlanta Botanical Gardens Lights, Holiday Nights

Even as you drive into the Botanical Gardens, you can see many of the lights from the street to get you excited for whats to come.  We did choose to take an Uber from our hotel which dropped us off at the front entry.  Parking is available but can fill up so you may need alternate plans.

It would be hard to say my favorite part as each corner you went around, more lights and many colors were found.  Donโ€™t forget to look up either.

Synchronized Curtain of Lights

Probably the fan favorite and mine, is the synchronized curtains of lights.

You will want to stop and listen to some of your favorite tunes along the walk through the Botanical Gardens.  Every color can be seen in this curtain of lights.

Plenty of Food and Snack Options

You will find several booths selling favorite foods and drinks, including wine and eggnog throughout the park.  For a nicer sit-down dinner, make a reservation at Longleaf Restaurant as they are a full service restaurant onsite.

Sโ€™Mores are available to make yourself.  Buy a kit and roast your marshmallows over an open fire.  Kids of all ages seem to enjoy this activity.  Plus who doesnโ€™t love a sโ€™more?

My favorite drink was Jim Beam Egg Nog.  Even my non eggnog drinking husband enjoy it.

White Rabbit Sculpture

Another fan favorite, and mine is the White Rabbit Sculpture.

This stands over 27 feet tall and is the centerpiece of the garden.  The water is dyed black to make the reflection even better.

Ice Goddess

Another centerpiece of Atlanta Botanical Gardens Lights, Holiday Nights is the Ice Goddess.  Itโ€™s covered in brillaint lights for the season but in the Spring it goes back to being and Earth Goddess.

I can only imagine what it will look like this Spring when itโ€™s covered in vegetation and colorful flowers, each applied by hand.

The Cutest Shaggy Dog

Itโ€™s a living mosaiculture piece first placed in the garden in 2013 in honor of the volunteers.

Fountains

I canโ€™t pass up a great fountain, and when it contains a Chihuly, itโ€™s even better.

A piece of Chihuly Glass Art is easily recognizable.

Model Trains

The fun place was walking through the model train display.  Covered in colorful lights, trains are running throughout the exhibit.  Do you love trains?

Simply the Best โ€“ Atlanta Botanical Gardens Lights, Holiday Nights

Donโ€™t take my word for it.

The Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC declared Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, the best of the โ€œheavyweightsโ€ on their annual light competition.  After watching that episode, I totally agree with their decision.

  1. You’ve really managed to capture those lights so well. It can be tricky to get good photos of light shows like that. Thanks for sharing.
